Application

Who can apply?

Moot court teams consist of three to five members. Law students (and students enrolled in subjects related to public international law) from the University of Freiburg and incoming Erasmus students are eligible to apply. Fluency in the English language, both oral and written, is crucial. Having knowledge of public international law is an asset, but not required. A crash course will be held for the entire team before the competition starts.

How to apply:

The following documents are required:

  • Letter of motivation in English
  • Curriculum Vitae in English or German
  • Copies of university certificates/the graduation certificate from school
  • Relevant language certificates (if available)

Applications should be addressed to Ms Laura Tribess. Submission via e-mail is preferred (jessup@jura.uni-freiburg.de). Applications submitted on paper will not be returned.

If you plan to apply for other Moot Court teams, we kindly ask you to indicate this in your application. Doing so will have no effect on the selection process, but it will help us organize the selection process.

Deadline and interview

The deadline for written applications is June 12th, 2022 (at midnight).

Interviews are scheduled for the weekend of June 17th to 19th, 2022 and will be held in Freiburg or over Zoom. You will be invited to give a short presentation on a topic of public international law selected by us. We will provide you with the documents necessary to prepare for the presentation in advance.
